Episode 2 – Offa’s Dyke
Tony walks Offa’s Dyke in the wake of William Wordsworth, explores the subterranean resting place of King Arthur, encounters Wales’ fearsome dragon and ponders the priceless gold coin issued by King Offa in praise of Allah.
Episode 3 – The Portway
Tony walks the Derbyshire Portway and uncovers a prehistoric shark tooth, shines a light in an abandoned railway tunnel and hangs out with DH Lawrence on this ancient track through the Peak District.
Episode 4 – Dere Street
Tony follows the Roman road of Dere Street north through Hadrian’s Wall, contemplates the ancient night sky, braves the roar of a Celtic horn, mixes medieval potions and encounters ancient invaders.
